Compulsory Attendance of Professional Development Programmes The Council of the Institute at its 200th Meeting held on March 18, 2011 at New Delhi amended the Guidelines for Compulsory Attendance of Professional Development Programmes by the Members of ICSI in practice as well as in employment as under:

1.	Next block of three years	April 01, 2011 to March 31, 2014
2.	Min. number of Programme Credit Hours (PCH) to be acquired by Members in Practice	15 PCH in each year or 50 PCH in a block of three years w.e.f April 01, 2011
3.	Min. number of PCH to be acquired by Members in Employment (i.e. members in whose name Form 32 has been filed to work as Company Secretary under the provisions of Sec. 383A of the Companies Act, 1956)	10 PCH in each year or 35 PCH in a block of three years w.e.f April 01, 2011
4.	Min. number of PCH to be acquired by Members above the age of 60 years	Presently the members of the age of 65 years are not required to obtain PCH. This age limit stands reduced to 60 years and the members above the age of 60 years shall be required to obtain 50% of the PCH required to be obtained by the members below 60 years w.e.f April 01, 2011.
5.	Members failing to obtain the mandatory PCH upto March 31, 2011	Provided with a shortfall upto 10 PCH and required to compensate by obtaining atleast 5 additional PCH on pro rata basis in the first year of the next block of three years commencing from April 01, 2011.
6.	Members who have not obtained any PCH during the block ending on March 31, 2011	Members seeking renewal of COP to provide an explanation for non compliance with the Guidelines – to be decided on case to case basis.

Note : A student appearing in 10+2 examination may also apply for

provisional     admission     in     Foundation     programme     by

submitting  the  attested  photocopy  of  his/her  admit  card  of

attested   photocopy   of   his/her   12th   passed   mark   sheet/

certificate within  the  06  months  from  the  date  of  his/her

admission  in  Foundation  Programme.  Failure  to  submit  the

pass  result    within    the    prescribed    time    amounts    to

cancellation of the foundation programmeme registration and

forfeiture of the registration fee.

6.        Who is eligible for exemption from A candidate possessing any of the following qualifications is eligible passing the Foundation Programme for exemption from passing the Foundation Programme examination:

Examination ?	i)	A Degree or master’s degree in Corporate Secretaryship
		or Commerce; or
	ii)	Pass in the Final examination of the Institute of Cost and
		Works Accountants of India or the Institute of Chartered
		Accountants    of    India    or    any    other    Accountancy
		Institutions in India  or  abroad  recognized  as equivalent
		thereto by the Council; or
	iii)	A degree or master’s degree in any discipline other than
		Fine Arts.
	A non-commerce candidate seeking exemption from the Foundation
	Programme examination in clause (iii) above however is required to
	undergo  satisfactorily  a  course  of  postal  or  oral  tuition  in  those
	subjects of the Foundation Programme, which he had not studied at
	graduate   or   post   graduate   level   before   becoming   eligible   for
	undergoing coaching for the Executive Programme Examination.
	Note : Provisional admission in Executive Programme is not allowed.
	(  i.e.	Students  can  apply  for  admission  in  Executive  Programme
		only  after  getting  pass  mark  sheet  of  3rd  year  of  graduation
		exam)

The  above  concession  would  be  granted  subject  to  the  following

guidelines : -

(i)

The  concerned  students  should  submit  a  certificate  issued

by a Physician / Surgeon/ Oculist working in a State/ Central

Government  to  the  effect  of  permanent  physical  disability

(including blindness).

(ii)

The  following  shall  be  regarded  as  permanent  physical

disability :-

(a)  permanent  physical  disability  of  more  than  50%  in

one limb; or

(b)  permanent  physical  disability  of  more  than  60%  in

two or more limbs; or

(c)

permanent deafness with hearing impairment  of 70

decibels and above; or

(d)  permanent and total loss of voice.

				(iii)	Blindness	shall	be    regarded    as    permanent    physical
					disability, if it is incurable and falls in any of the categories
					specified namely : -
						-      6/60 to 1/60 or field of vision 110-2
						-	3/60 to  1/60 or field of vision 100
						-      FC at 1 foot to Nil or field of vision 100
						-	Total absence of sight
